Theoretically Asked Questions
Are your products really handmade?
Yes, we have spent hours and hours researching our products and can say we have found a reliable and reputable company who handmake the products to order which we sell. The company have all the correct licenses and certificates to make the products.
What makes your soaps different than soap I can buy at the store?
We use natural ingredients, and can say our products are cruelty free, and SLS free. In some cases they are SLES free. The products are paraben free, vegetarian and vegan friendly. All our products are also made in small quantities to guarantee their quality & freshness.
Are your products 100% Natural or Organic?
All of our products contain lots of wonderful natural ingredients, however some of our products do contain some non – natural ingredients.
Do you use Parabens?
No, all of our products are Paraben free.
Are bars of soap covered in germs?
You bet; there are germs everywhere if you want to get technical, but it's very unlikely they will make you sick or cause a skin infection; "good" bacteria lives quite happily in the soap, that's why we get it wet, before we use it and even then it is not of any concern, also, you should allow the soap bar to dry between uses, making sure the natural bar lasts you longer.
If you are sharing the bar with your spouse or kids, there’s no need to worry yourself about cooties, since you probably share many of the very same microorganisms anyway.
Not matter what, there have been no detectable levels of bacteria left on the skin's surface after using a bar of soap.
What is the shelf life of your products?
Our Soap has a shelf life of approx. 36 months and should be kept wrapped and out of direct sunlight.
Our Bath Bombs have a shelf life of approx. 12 months
Our Sugar Scrubs have a shelf life of approx. 12 months
Is your packaging Eco Friendly?
We have had a lot of questions about this, which is great! The public are becoming more aware of plastics and the environment.
All of our products are currently delivered by hand. This is to reduce the amount of packaging.
All of our products come in an eco-friendly jute bag with an attached label which can be removed, and the jute bag can be reused for many household items.
We are really trying to look into ways that we can keep our plastic use down, but it is quite difficult when dealing with cosmetic products sometimes! But our brains are whirring and working all the time.
Are your products suitable for Vegans?
Yes, all of our products have always been suitable for Vegans. In 2018 the soap makers took steps to become approved by The Vegetarian Society to join their Vegan brands and as of March 2018 they are a Vegan approved company.
Do your Soaps contain SLS?
The soaps do not contain SLS. Our soaps do contain SLES which is a totally different foaming agent, even though the names look very similar. SLES is a very mild and gentle foaming agent that is normally very well tolerated by sensitive skin.
Do your soaps contain Palm Oil?
The soaps do currently contain Palm Oil derivatives; these are sourced using an RSPO programme.
The solid shampoo bars are Palm Oil free.
How long does your bar of soap last?
On average our soaps last way over a month.
You must keep it on a soap dish, or dry between uses.
Also, it depends on how many showers you take.

When will my order arrive?
How long is a piece of string?
Jersey Post assures its customers that it takes around 1-2 days. Nothing in this world is certain however, so, we cannot guarantee this. We believe that it should take no more than 5 working days for you to receive your order. But...if it is a particularly busy time over here at The Loving Suds and we get backlogged with orders, it can take us a little longer to get your order to you. The aim is to get them out as soon as possible, but when it's busy it can take us over a week to pack up the orders if there is a large queue. Please be patient with us! The Loving Suds is still a small business and we are trying our best to get orders out as quickly as we can. (We’re still dumbfounded by the demand!)
Why can’t you send my order out the next day and do you have products ‘in stock’ ready to send?
You will never receive a product from us that has been sitting on a shelf for months. Our products are as fresh as can be when you receive them, and we believe this is better for you so the products are made to order.
We have limited “in Stock” items for this very reason.
Where possible we will always try to dispatch your order as quickly as we can.
My order hasn’t arrived, what should I do?
No please don’t.
It’s not the end of the world I’m sure. (If it is what are you complaining about?)
Email us at email@example.com and let us know what the problem is. We shall do everything within our power to sort this out for you. It’ll be ok, we promise.*
*As far as locating or replacing lost or missing parcels are concerned anyway. We can’t solve all your problems; our powers are limited.
How can I return items?
If we may be so bold, we would encourage you to think carefully before you buy anything, as we are trying to promote sustainable buying practices and it doesn’t help anyone to impulse buy. If you are not sure if a product is right for you, ask us your questions to see if it will work for you. If not, no problem. We would rather you decide before you buy rather than after your order has been posted. Carbon footprint and all that lark.
Due to the delicate nature of handcrafted products, unfortunately we are unable to return products. We put detailed descriptions on each item, so you know what you are buying and using, please read each product description fully before buying. We do our best to give descriptions for each product. However, if you are still unsure about the scent, we’d be happy to give a more simple description upon request.
There will be NO RETURNS on any items with the exception of items found to be damaged or defective, and to be determined on a “case-by-case” basis only. If the product you received is in fact damaged or was sent by mistake, we will gladly do our best to fix the problem (for more info on this please contact us).
If your item is faulty, please get in touch and let us know what the problem is. (Remember, nothing is perfect, mistakes happen and most importantly, it is not our fault, it’s the product’s fault.) Once you have returned the item and we have checked it for the fault, we will send a replacement, or refund your order depending on the issue.
